Carry grief, don't conquer it

Grief Support with Lynn Castilla

Lynn Castilla

Words of Wisdom

×´I don’t approach grief as a problem to fix. Instead, I see it as a deeply personal process of integration—of making space for both sorrow and the quiet possibility of beauty. Our work together isn’t about moving on; it’s about moving with.×´

Grief isn’t always loud

Sometimes it shows up as unlived dreams, quiet aches, or the weight of life transitions. This retreat welcomes it all.

A journey through movement and meaning

Beginning and ending at Held in Porto, we walk a portion of the Camino de Santiago, blending reflection, creative practice, and embodied presence.

Make space for joy, too

This is a path not just for grief—but for grace, healing, and the gentle return of light.

About Lynn

Lynn, a Yoga instructor and Creative Grief Support Coach, discovered yoga in childhood, practicing with her Nana to Lilias Folan's TV program. Her experience in hospice nursing deepened her dedication to personal growth and living authentically through self-compassion and exploring the unknown.

Today, she shares yoga and other somatic practices as tools for self-healing and meaning-making, fostering love and transformation through creative expression, embodiment practices, and enriching conversations. She founded Held, an urban retreat and gathering space promoting refuge, inspiration, and authentic living.

Off the mat, Lynn can be found in her garden or walking in the idyllic Portuguese countryside with her dog and companion, Jyo.

My Approach

I support my clients in making meaning from their grief through somatic practices and creative expression—inviting the body and imagination into the process of integration and transformation.

Loss of a loved one

a family member, friend, pet, or mentor

Collective and ancestral grief

climate grief, systemic oppression, generational trauma

Changes in relationships

divorce, breakups, estrangement, shifts in chosen family

Unlived dreams

infertility, lost career paths, financial instability, changing life expectations

Major life transitions

moving, career shifts, aging, becoming a parent, empty nest

Health & identity shifts

chronic illness, disability, mental health struggles, gender transition, embracing sexual identity, faith deconstruction

Whatever your grief looks like, it is valid. You don’t have to justify it, compare it, or rush through it.

Grief can be many things at once—an ache, a reckoning, a love story without an ending. And just as it reshapes us, it also asks us to keep living, to keep making space for joy, beauty, and love, even in the midst of sorrow.

Ready to make more space for
both grief and joy?

You don’t have to do this alone. If this work speaks to you, I’d love to hold space for your grief in a way that feels safe, supportive, and meaningful.
